With meaningful distribution designed to bring real results, DARK ARTS ENTERTAINMENT works with filmmakers at all stages of development and production to create a range of quality, marketable features and multimedia projects, tailor made for today’s discerning horror audience. 

This venture is helmed by BRIAN YUZNA and JOHN PENNEY who have been working actively and successfully within the film industry for over thirty years. Both individuals have extensive experience as writers, directors, and producers. Their knowledge of genre, which is equally developed in both business and creative practices, have won them numerous international awards between them and have run productions on almost every continent across the globe.

BRIAN YUZNA

The award-winning Brian Yuzna has been a pioneer of both genre and progressive FX work since he first put together RE-ANIMATOR in the early '80s.

Since then, he has had a career that has seen him write, produce, and direct a wide range of titles that includes SOCIETY, HONEY I SHRUNK THE KIDS, NECRONOMICON, DOLLS, and FAUST, to name a few.

His Fantastic Factory label has been the driving force behind many award-winning films in North America, Europe, and Asia.

Yuzna's inaugural movie as a director was the acclaimed Society, a unique and inspired supernatural view of the upper class.

JOHN PENNEY

Award-winning filmmaker John Penney's work includes writing and directing ZYZZYX ROAD, starring Katherine Heigl and Tom Sizemore, and the supernatural thriller HELLGATE starring William Hurt and Cary Elwes (which won Best Film at the Bram Stoker International Film Festival and Best Horror Film at the Italian Fantasy Horror Awards).

John's prior writing and producing credits include; RETURN OF THE LIVING DEAD 3, THE KINDRED, AMPHIBIOUS 3D, and CONTAMINATED MAN.
